NZI welcomes new Health and Safety Work Act

A new Health and Safety Work Act being introduced in New Zealand from next month will help bring the country up to speed with other developed economies,  NZI’s National Manager Liability Ryan Clark has said.

Clark has welcomed the new Act, which looks to ensure businesses, directors and people in manager positions are more accountable and responsible for their actions and non-actions in providing a safe working environment for their staff, and for people that visit their workplace.

The Health and Safety at Work Act will come into force on 4 April 2016 as part of the Government’s reform of New Zealand’s health and safety system.
