IAG is pleased to announce three of our nominations have been announced as finalists in the annual New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards, hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
Now in their fourth year, the awards bring the New Zealand insurance industry together to recognise dedication and achievement in protecting the assets and livelihoods of New Zealanders.
Our finalists are:
State (direct general insurance company of the year)
The last twelve months have been a time of big decisions and large scale change for State.
As New Zealanders change and demand more from their insurers, State has listened to its customers and made transformational changes to ensure State continues to add value.
State offers added value through offering personal lines, travel, business and life insurance, aligning its structure and service offerings to better support customers through the channels they prefer, and invested significantly in a range of market leading digital insurance services.
NZI (intermediated insurance company of the year)
IAG purchased Lumley in 2014. The thoroughness of the integration of Lumley into NZI made last year a truly significant one. That NZI was able to able bring both businesses together, while continuing to achieve constant improvement – in culture, processes, community relationships and not least in the service delivered to customers is something NZI is very proud of.
A focus on one point of contact, one price and one product following the acquisition of Lumley made it easier for NZI’s broker partners to do business with them, and expanding the branch network strengthened the connections with customers and partners.
A revised banking partner model and the introduction of a Key Partnership Team rounded off a year of realignment and enhanced relationships.
Joseph Neilson, Underwriting Manager – CPF, NZI (young insurance professional of the year)
Joe has been identified by NZI as having high leadership potential. He is passionate about helping NZI’s customers and broker partners and making it easier for them to do business with NZI.
Throughout Joe’s time at NZI he has worked hard to develop sustainable relationships, led a number of high level business initiatives, and demonstrated a commitment to excellence and innovation in his role.
A keen mentor and coach, Joe is a member of ANZIIF and takes passing on his knowledge seriously, helping others develop their careers.
The winners will be announced on 5 November.
