AMI is delighted to announce a new partnership with Neighbourly.co.nz, New Zealand’s first free and private website that looks to connect and encourage safety within communities across the country.
Neighbourly.co.nz allows New Zealanders to share information on everything from community events, local business recommendations and lost and found to more serious topics such as crime and safety, with people who live in their neighbourhood.
Craig Dowling, head of Corporate Affairs for IAG, and representing its business units including AMI, says Neighbourly and AMI share a mutual vision to help grow and nurture safer communities across New Zealand.
“Being neighbourly is a simple but powerful concept embraced by AMI and embodied in AMI’s own approach to customers and the communities we support, so the fit is ideal,” says Craig. “Neighbourly provides a wonderfully fresh way for people to connect with each other to either build on or establish new communities of shared interest. A connected and friendly New Zealand is one that AMI is passionate about contributing to as we believe that better connected communities – more ‘neighbourly’ communities – lead to stronger, safer communities.”
“AMI’s support of Neighbourly.co.nz will assist with the day to day running and future development of the site and help it remain free of charge. Neighbourly co-founder Casey Eden says it is important for Neighbourly to find partners who share its vision of ‘stronger, safer and friendlier places to call home’. “AMI has a focus on protecting the things that New Zealanders value the most alongside keeping their customers safe,” says Eden.
“One of the things Neighbourly members discuss the most is community safety so a relationship with AMI is a natural fit. Neighbourly members can expect the site to function in exactly the same way as it has been; the support from AMI enables us to continue the great work the site is already doing.”
Neighbourly fosters interaction and conversation between neighbours and community organisations by creating an easy way for them to talk and share online through free and private websites for their suburbs. Since launching in June 2014, Neighbourly has grown to a membership of more than 57,000 with hundreds of new members joining across New Zealand every day.
AMI and Neighbourly are working together on a new site feature for release in early 2015 that will further strengthen their ‘safer communities’ vision.
