Success for NZI at Insurance Industry Awards

Great recognition for NZI, which has been named Intermediated Insurance Company of the Year at the Second Annual Insurance Industry Awards. The insurer beat other finalists Lumley and Vero to become one of twelve winners announced at an awards ceremony held last night (Thursday, 24 October 2013) at the SKYCITY Conference Centre in Auckland.

This is the second year NZI has won the award; in 2012 it was announced joint winner with Vero. NZI’s Executive General Manager Karl Armstrong (pictured below) said he was extremely excited and immensely proud about the win.

“This year we’ve led the intermediated industry on two critical conversations: the need for Sum Insured home coverage and the issue of earthquake prone buildings,” he said.

“We’ve also demonstrated considerable market leadership in our use of the Broker Consulting Group, our broker claims clinics and in our engagement with the community.  The insurance industry continues to be very competitive and challenging and we certainly cannot rest on our laurels.

“Winning this award is a fitting tribute to the significant work we have undertaken to benefit our broker and banking partners. The challenge now is to stay at the top and continue to improve our products and services for our customers to be even better next year.”

Other IAG-owned brands to receive nominations at this year’s awards included Lantern Insurance for Innovation of the Year and AMI Whangarei branch manager Gareth Evans for Emerging Young Professional of the Year.
