IAG’s New Zealand CEO Jacki Johnson appeared on Radio New Zealand presenter Kathryn Ryan’s Nine to Noon show this morning (National Radio, Thursday, 6 June 2013) to discuss the changes to home insurance. She was joined by Barry McLean from the Institute of Quantity Surveyors and insurance lawyer Andrew Hooker.
In the segment, Jacki explains why the changes are being made and addresses the view that re-insurers have forced up premiums to increase their profits. Jacki explains that changes are necessary to ensure consumers are protected from the modern day level of risk.
There is also praise for IAG for being the only insurer to have responded pro-actively to the changes with the launch of our need2know campaign and some positive comments in relation to our online calculator as being an effective enough tool to provide 80-90% of New Zealanders with an estimate of the sum insured figure for their home.
